The Downrail keeps your day low-maintenance: pull on the elastic waist and go surf. Four-way stretch with an elastic waistband, spun from coconut fibers, recycled Repreve poly and cotton, 36% polyester from coconut, 34% recycled polyester, 20% cotton, 10% spandex, with a 16.5-inch outseam. A full wrap-around tethered drawstring, an inset back pocket with flap, and on-seam half-mesh-lined hand pockets. Everyday ocean time, no ceremony required.

In the past, water-repellant fabrics were treated with chemicals known as PFCs and Fluorocarbons to help prevent surface saturation into the fabrics. The problem is that as these chemicals are released from the fabrics over time they have been shown to harm the living organisms they come into contact with, affecting reproduction and hormone systems. Vissla has chosen to move to 100% PFC and Fluorocarbon-free DWR water repellant coating for our boardshorts.
