Vissla is pleased to announce that we'll be taking the Cosmic series on the road to bring you the first ever Cosmic Hermosa surf festival on August 29th at Playa Hermosa, Jaco, Costa Rica - directly in front of the Vista Hermosa Restaurant.
“The Cosmic Creek is less of a surf contest and more of a history lesson of our local surfing history & foundational roots, with boards and stories that were rarely heard outside our inner circle. To let kids ride classic, rare, vintage surf boards that are older than them, and gather the tribes young and old to swap ideas about eclectic surf craft. No other surfing event globally brings history and community out in such a feel good environment." - Eric Diamond, Event Founder
Cosmic Hermosa will bring this unique Cosmic vibe to Costa Rica. It will consist of a one-day surf contest open to the public, followed by a free concert and awards ceremony at Caliche’s Wishbone Restaurant.
SIGN UPS
Sign-ups are available at Mango Surf Shop Jaco starting July 1st. $30 entry fee for all divisions includes entry into the event, an event t-shirt, gift bag, and lunch at Vista Hermosa Restaurant.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 29TH
Surfing: 8am - 4pm
Ages 16 & Under
4 Heats, 2 Semi-Finals, Final
16 – 24 surfers
Ages 17-34
4 Heats, 2 Semi-Finals, Final 16 – 24 surfers
Ages 35+
3 Heats, 1 Semi-Final, Final (First Place in Round #1 Goes Straight to Final)
12 – 18 surfers
Pro Division
3 Heats, 1 Semi-Final, Final
12 surfers
Awards: 7pm - 10pm at Caliche’s Wishbone Restaurant followed with live music by Monte, presented by D'Blanc.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the Pro Division only. Mango Surf Shop gift cards and Vissla and D’Blanc product prizes will be provided for placing in all other divisions.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 30TH
Signing & Palmera Express Premiere: Vissla pros will compete in the event and sign posters at Mango Surf Shop Jaco followed by the Costa Rica premiere of Vissla Film's Palmera Express.
