Vissla Sydney Surf Pro

With only a few days away, the preparation for the Vissla Sydney Surf Pro at Manly is ramping up. An estimated 220 surfers from over 20 different countries are expected to hit the water down at Manly Beach to compete for the Vissla Pro title. The event, running from 24 February - 4 March, will be Sydney's biggest surf event in 2018.

This event will see some big name surfers competing for the 6,000 QS points up for grabs. Matt Banting will be making his WSL come back in the Vissla Pro after 12 months recovering from a pelvic injury. Banting cemented his elite surfing status at the Manly event in 2015 and paved his way to qualifying for the WSL Tour that year. Icon, Alana Blanchard, will also be making her come back to surfing post welcoming her baby boy into the world in December with fellow surfer Jack Freestone.

Over 26 renowned surfboard shapers will be participating in a live shaping demo throughout the days of competition. Vissla will also be introducing the Creators & Innovators Division which will feature 16 of these shapers surfing alongside a sponsored surfer of their choice to compete as a team. Two waves from the shaper and one wave from the surfer will count towards their team score, and eventually will crown the first ever Creators & Innovators Division champion.
