The Cosmic Series Hit the East Coast. Here's How It Went.

Four stops. Four crews. One jelly donut contest that got way more competitive than anyone planned for.
If you're new here: the Cosmic Series is Vissla's traveling surf event series, equal parts contest, party, and excuse to get the whole community on the sand at once. No egos, no velvet rope. Just good waves, good tunes, and a lineup of people who showed up because it's fun, not because they had to. This summer, the tour rolled through the East Coast for four stops from New Jersey down to Virginia Beach, and it delivered on every level.
Here's the full recap, plus the soundtrack that carried the vibes from stop to stop.
This is the playlist that soundtracked all four stops. Put it on, and you're basically there.
Massive Thanks to Our Sponsors
None of this happens without the crew who back it. Big thanks to Mini, Yeti, I-Sea Sunglasses, Turtlebox, and SISSTR for fueling the tour from start to finish. And to every local surf shop that opened its doors and showed up for its community: this one's for you.
Stop 1: Manasquan Inlet, NJ
First stop, first swell, and the Jersey Shore delivered. Great waves, great weather, and a crowd that set the tone for the rest of the tour.
Huge thanks to Bare Wires Surf Shop for the massive local support. Shops like this are the backbone of every surf town, and Bare Wires proved it all day.
Stop 2: Ship Bottom, NJ
Ship Bottom brought the waves and the chaos, in the best way. The 2nd Annual Hands-Free Jelly Donut Eating Contest returned, and this year over 30 people threw their dignity aside to compete. If you've never watched someone try to eat a jelly donut with their hands behind their back while a crowd loses it, you're missing out.
Shoutout to Farias Surf for hosting and supporting the Ship Bottom/LBI stop. Local shop energy made the whole event hit different!
Stop 3: Margate, NJ
Margate closed out the New Jersey run, and the waves stayed consistent all week. The highlight came after dark: we premiered Episode 3, "Marketplace," from Simon Hetrick's series See You Next Time at Heritage's Surf Night afterparty. Good film, good crowd, good way to wrap the Jersey leg.
Thank you to Heritage Surf Shop for hosting the premiere and keeping the Margate surf community as strong as it is.
Stop 4: Atlantic Park Surf, Virginia Beach, VA
The final stop broke new ground for the Cosmic Series: our first-ever wave pool event, at Atlantic Park Surf in Virginia Beach. Consistent, repeatable waves changed the whole format, and the crowd came ready for it.
Thanks to WRV and 17th Street Surf Shop for the local support in VB and for helping make the wave pool debut one to remember.
What Made This Tour Stick
Ask anyone who came through a stop and they'll tell you it wasn't really about the contest heats. It was the shop owners who opened up their spots, the crowd that showed up early and stayed late, and the small moments, like 30 people committing fully to a donut contest, that make a tour like this worth doing.
A few questions we'd love to hear from you on: Which stop had the best energy? Did the Ship Bottom donut contest live up to last year's? And if the Cosmic Series pulls into a wave pool again, are you paddling out?
Next Up: Florida, This Fall
The Cosmic Series isn't done for 2026. Two more stops are locked in for September, hitting Melbourne Beach and Boynton Beach, Florida. Same format, same energy, new coastline.
Follow along for dates, and keep this playlist loaded. You'll want it for round two.
