A Most Cosmic Weekend - The 27th Annual Cosmic Creek Recap
The festivities began Friday evening at The Ecology Center with a free concert
featuring Yasawa Group and ÖLÜM, accompanied by delicious tapas from the farm,
local beers from Docent Brewing and a vinyl DJ set by our own DJ Brindles.
From Saturday to Sunday, the heart of Cosmic Creek took over Salt Creek Beach Park. Surf enthusiasts of all ages—from groms to pros—rode vintage boards in distinct heats: 70s single-fins and 80s twin-fins. The event was open to all, offering classic surfboard action and nodding to boards from decades past.
Interwoven throughout the surf heats psychedelic tunes pumping from the speakers on the sand, a free tie dye station hosted by The Ecology Center, and live surfboard shaping with Donald Brink and friends. Those in attendance witnessed pumping waves, cheered on surfers, and vibed with the tunes—
everyone soaking in that cosmic communal energy.
This fest remains unique by celebrating surf heritage—from classic boards to local craftsmanship—while blending music, art, and community interaction. A weekend like no other!
The 27th edition continued its legacy: a three-day homage to retro surfing culture, good waves and live music, artistry, local flavors, and family fun. The cosmic tide waits for no one.
If there’s one take‐away: be there, next year.
Here’s to the next cosmic gathering! See you at Cosmic Shores in July!
