They don’t call Rincon the “Queen of the Coast” for nothing. When the right winter swell is in the water you can get rides from the top of the point all the way down to the freeway. The only thing keeping you from the longest right of your life are the hundreds of surfers fighting for the same prize.

What would you do on a long right wall of water? For the pro you do what ever you want. Airs, tubes, turns…this wave has a versatile canvas to paint on. For the not so pro, you can race to the shoulder or run people over. What ever your skill level there is something fun for everyone.

The Cove is the inside corner of the point closest to the board walk. This is what you see when traveling north on the 101 freeway…inviting isn’t it. Little known fact, Rincon is actually in Ventura next to the Santa Barbara County line.

The river mouth is where most people paddle out after doing their hot lap and running up the point. Rincon is Spanish for “angle” or “corner” and with the sand flow coming out of the creek it has created this famous angled corner for surfing.

The light in the evening is tricky to shoot because it is so backlit. This evening the sky was torched which was fitting to the firing swell in the water.
