We brought the Pura Vissla spirit back to Playa Hermosa once again on July 29th for the 3rd annual Vissla Cosmic Hermosa surf festival. The surf gods were feeling feisty for this year’s event, challenging competitors with fast and powerful 6-8’ sets, combined with a classic Costa Rican tropical downpour. But the Cosmic fun powered through and the sun broke back out for all the final heats of the day. The sea cleaned up for an exciting Pro Final, with JJ Lopez narrowly taking the win over Peru’s Gabriel Villaran.

In Cosmic tradition, competitors and fans re-grouped and gathered at the Green Room in Jaco for the evening’s festivities presented by D’Blanc, which included the Awards Ceremony, the Costa Rican premiere of Vissla’s latest film “Pedro’s Bay,” and a live performance by the rock band Voodoo. For the second consecutive year Voodoo brought the house down with their vintage rock inspired tunes.

Vissla is grateful for the support of Mango Surf Shop, Vida Hermosa Restaurant, and the Green Room Cafe who all partnered with us again to make this another unforgettable event. We can’t wait to see everyone again next year! Pura Vissla.
